About LaVeda M. Jones
LaVeda M. Jones is a powerhouse of purpose, a speaker, author, advocate, and faith-driven firestarter helping women rise from the ashes of hard places.
She’s a single mom turned soul-builder, known for her raw storytelling, deep compassion, and relentless mission to uplift single mothers and foster girls across the nation.
A creative at heart, LaVeda holds a BFA in Visual Communications from IADT and has recently earned her Master Diploma in Youth Mental Health Coaching through Light University. Her work lives at the intersection of healing, leadership, and faith.
Since 2009, LaVeda has been a voice for women doing the hard work alone, sharing her journey as a single mom, her fire-tested faith, and her prayers turned into pages. She’s the award winning author of Raising a Prince Without a King, and has recently published the 100-Day Single Mom Prayer Journal, and the 30-Day Mommy and Me Prayer Journal with new titles releasing soon. Her 100-Day Prayer Journey and weekly prayer calls continue to guide women back to purpose, power, and God.
In 2022, LaVeda said yes to fostering, a yes that turned into forever. She is now a proud adoptive mother of girls, joining the two sons she raised on her own. That life-changing experience fuels her work through Grit Grace & Glow, the nonprofit she founded for foster girls ages 8 to 18. Through leadership, life skills, creative arts, and wellness programs, these girls are reminded they’re more than their pasts, they’re firebuilders too.
Her signature Luggage of Hope project replaces trash bags with real luggage for girls in transition, giving them something far too many have been denied: dignity.
More than anything, LaVeda is a woman who lives her life out loud for God. She speaks truth. She builds fire. She shifts atmospheres. She loves hard and leads with both grit and grace.
